Who We Are

Wendy Baker

Director of Public Relations / Project Manager

Wendy Baker

Wendy’s love for Sussex County is evident through her work and her life. After attending Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond and Salisbury University earning a bachelor's degree in Marketing and Management, Wendy returned home and worked for a property management company. She learned every conceivable phase from construction management, settlements and warranty work to sales, marketing and property management.

In 1996 Wendy formed her own company, Property Management Professionals, Inc. building the company portfolio to more than eighteen associations from North Bethany to Rehoboth Beach. She sold the company to a regional management company devoting more time to her family and work with Ocean Atlantic Associates and the Sussex County Land Trust.

After consultanting with Ocean Atlantic Agency for several years, Wendy came on board fulltime as Vice-President of the Development Group. She has been instrumental in the success of Paynter’s Mill and is heading the Project Management Team of the Vineyard's at Nassau Valley. However, Wendy does more than manage the development projects, she brings style and craft in creating environmentally sensitive communities in conjunction with visually stunning, innovative architecture.

As the President/CEO of the Sussex County Land Trust, Wendy shares similar goals of members of the land trust who are dedicated to cultivating responsibility among their peers by recognizing the need to plan communities using smart growth principles of Livable Delaware. The land trust is dedicated to providing a financial means to ensure open space protection of Sussex County’s special places.

Wendy is an active member of the community serving as Treasurer of the Executive Board of the Rehoboth Dewey Beach Chamber of Commerce, volunteering for the State of Delaware BIE Choices and What’s My line Programs, serving as Sponsor Chairman for Delaware Ducks Unlimited and is a member of AAUW, Nafe and Rehoboth Village Improvements Association. She resides in Bethany with her two children, Dillon and Hailley.
