The Peninsula community at Long Neck is one step closer to getting its long-awaited clubhouse.  According to Preston Schell, a partner in Ocean Atlantic Companies which recently purchased the Peninsula project from Wells Fargo Bank, the Peninsula Homeowners Action Committee approved the design and schedule for construction of the 32,740 square-foot facility at its Sept. 26 meeting.

Schell said constructionwill begin in the spring of 2015 with completion by late fall in 2016. He said plans meet conditions placed on the project by Sussex County Council in August.  Frustrated that changes in ownership and other delays had thwarted the clubhouse which was to be completed many years ago, the county demanded an approved design by mid-October with construction completion by December of 2016. The county said if those deadlines weren't met, it would delay the issuance of additional building permits.

When Ocean Atlantic Companies purchased the project, it pledged to build the clubhouse and meet the county conditions.

Greg Tobias, Chris Schell and Preston Schell - of Schell Brothers and Ocean Atlantic Companies - shared their design for the new clubhouse at the Peninsula at a Realtors reception this week.
